Skansis are an
exciting new band from Bern in Switzerland and they specialise in classy
hard rock with an aggressive edge. If you have a liking for bands like
Gotthard, Van Halen, Europe and George Lynch then these five guys are just
up your alley. They have opened for bands like Krokus, 3M (ex Whitesnake),
Vivian and Shakra in the past and it will not be long before they are
headline material themselves.
Skansis are a very much a new band and have only been together a few years
but in that time they have created a stir in the competitive world of rock
music. "Take your Chance" is their debut album and features 12 tracks of
outstanding quality. The album was recorded at Powerride studios,
Switzerland, mixed by Thom Blunier (Shakra), mastered at msm-studios Germany
and produced by band member Heiniger Beat.
The opening attack of "Is that enough" should have you sitting to attention;
this is a track that rattles along at a grand pace and has a great riff
running through the entire song. Skansis have a knack of producing a fresh
edge to the rock sound and they certainly pull it off to great effect. In
places the acoustic guitar of Joss Daniel give the band a unique touch and
compliment the driving guitar riffs created by Heiniger Beat.
Skansis do possess that air of originality that sets them apart from the
rest and it really is pleasure to the ears, the tracks seems to flow
effortlessly from the start, tracks like "Dangermind", "All I care" and "Never
let you go" all stay fresh in the mind even after just one listen. |
