Collections CD

Centered on guitarist Tony MacAlpine's neo-classical style that established him as one of the most innovative musicians of our time, Collection: The Shrapnel Years is a must-have for fans of high-performance guitar playing as it contains some of the most phenomenal solos in Shrapnel's rich guitar history. MacAlpine writes, "This collection of songs represents a musically fun period for me and the musicians that were associated with its development had much to do with that. When listening to this CD, one can imagine the hard work and practice it must have taken to create these pieces. However, after the last chord was played and the last mix was mastered, the reasons we undertook this task became clear."

Tony McAlpine - Live Insanity (Lion Music 2002)

A live album for Mr. McAlpine. This amazing guitar player definitly shows his talent on this records. 9 instrumental tracks, 'Tight' as hell!!!! These guys are PRO (capital letters!!!!). If you enjoy big guitar solos, good melodies and a rythm section solid as a rock, different elements in rock,jazz,etc.. you'll like it for sure! The sound is ok but could have been better. There's a lack of volume in my opinion and it's very hard to hear the crowd...really hard to catch the live ambiance but for the music it's near perfection...What a guitar player!!!

Tony MacAlpine - Violent Machine (Lion Music 2002)

The re-issued of Tony MacAlpine 1996 release, War Machine. When you hear the name Tony MacAlpine you know that musically, it's going to be well written, well played....You know that it's tight, you know that it's strong and solid as a rock. This album is one of the reasons why this guy has built a strong reputation from the very beginning of his carreer. Blending elements from Rock, fusion, jazz and classic , this album is like a classic/jazz album on acid!!! Musically , it's impecable! This guy is one of the best at what he does..Do I really have to say more?? I guess not!
