Seventh
Wonder, rapidly gaining a reputation
as one of Europe’s elite progressive
metal outfits delivers their third and most
ambitious album to date “Mercy
Falls” on September 12th
2008 through Lion Music.
“Mercy
Falls”, a concept album based
on the fate of a small town, a family tragedy
and the beast we refer to as human nature
all set to the bands most ambitious and
musically rich and vocally accomplished
album to date.
“Mercy
Falls” is much more diverse
than previous Seventh Wonder albums, while
staying true to the Seventh Wonder trademark
sound of intricate musical segments and
compositions loaded with melodies; there
are new twists and turns, an even stronger
band tightness from playing countless gigs
since the release of their 2006 album “Waiting
In The Wings” all of which is
brought together by a super powerful production
by the band and mix from the legendary Tommy
Hansen and completed by visually
stunning packaging from Carl-Andre Beckston.
“Mercy
Falls” is released as two editions
- a standard CD only and a CD+DVD “special
edition” with a whole host of goodies
for fans to sink their teeth into.
BAND
BIOGRAPHY
Seventh Wonder initial seeds were planted
in 2000 when bass player Andreas Blomqvist,
drummer Johnny Sandin and guitarist Johan
Liefvendahl left the ashes of the band Mankind
with no music to play nor a band name. Writing
came natural and the trio automatically
created music far more progressive than
what had been the style of Mankind. The
new style grew on the members who called
themselves Neverland at that time. To adapt
the band to the new music, a search for
a competent keyboard player began with the
slot being filled by Andreas Söderin.
The band recorded a 4 track demo with hired
vocalist Roman Karpovich before searching
for a replacement singer which saw Andi
Kravljaca join the ranks with whom the band
recorded another demo which gained excellent
reviews worldwide. Various labels were now
interested with the band with Lion Music
ultimately signing the band allowing them
freedom of expression in their music.
Late
2004 saw the band record their debut album
“Become” but tensions were arising
between Andi and the rest of the band ultimately
coming to a head days prior to the release
of their debut. Fortunately the band found
powerhouse vocalist Tommy Karevik whose
soaring vocals and electric stage presence
allowed the band to move forward with live
shows before recording their 2nd album,
the critically acclaimed “Waiting
In The Wings” (mixed and mastered
by Tommy Hansen) in August 2006. Seventh
Wonder spent 2007 playing all over Europe
with the likes of Jorn Lande, Pagan's Mind,
Queensrÿche, Testament, Sun Caged and
Redemption as well as writing the sequel
to WITW. The new album titled MERCY FALLS
will be released through Lion Music on September
12th 2008.
